Smokey Acres Ranch is a small family run farm located just outside Oregon City, Oregon.
We pride ourselves on using only organic growing methods. We don’t put dangerous chemicals into our bodies, and we won’t put them into yours.
NOTE: All garlic is cured after harvest and ships between August and September for fall planting.
Music garlic is a hardneck variety, identified by a stiff, woody stem running through the center of the bulb. Each bulb is tightly wrapped in layers of porcelain white, thin, papery skin and contains an average of 4 to 7 extra large cloves per bulb. Each clove is wrapped in a mauve, pink or brown-tinged skin, depending on the season. Raw Music garlic is aromatic and offers a medium-hot, ‘true garlic’ flavor.
Chesnok Red is a Purple Stripe variety of garlic, and perhaps the most beautiful garlic we offer. It has excellent flavor, especially when roasted, imparting garlicky sweetness to cooked dishes, without overwhelming heat.
This hardy garlic is relatively easy to grow, producing 6-10 cloves per bulb in tightly wrapped pinkish-red skins. Stores moderately well, around 4-6 months if handled properly after harvest.
This, porcelain garlic is also known as 'German Extra-Hardy', 'German White', and 'Northern White'. Impressive bulbs are 2" or larger with white skins, containing 4-7 fat cloves with red-striped wrappers that are easy to peel. The strong, robust flavor has staying power but isn't overwhelming or hot.
Elephant Garlic is a leek which grows like a garlic bulb with a mildly garlic fragrance and flavor. The bulbs which usually consist of 3-4 giant cloves are 2-3x the size of an average garlic bulb. Elephant Garlic may be planted in the fall or the spring similar to garlic.
We love our customers, so don’t hesitate to email us with any questions you may have.
